Critically Acclaimed Performer to Launch New Public Speaking Program
NEW YORK, NY, November 10, 2005 - Critically acclaimed artiste Vicki Stuart, known for her superior skills in the entertainment world, opens a new door in her career.
Stuart will teach what she calls the “Art of Public Speaking” at Singers Forum, a non-profit vocal academy celebrating its 27th year this month. Public Speaking has become a necessity in a culture where people judge you by the way you speak. What Stuart offers is the “Power Performance Technique” which she has created and which has proven extremely successful in all walks of life.
Some of the tenets of the Vicki Stuart technique are “Accomplishing the 4 Vibrations of a Commanding Speaker” and “Solidifying the 5 Message Givers.” In this technique, the
“Four Vibrations of a Commanding Speaker” are:
1. Experience and retain the ease of feeling comfortable and confident
2. Have complete control over your body, mind, voice and the audience
3. Exude enthusiasm, energy, and intensity in communication
4. Be a real person with sincerity, credibility and concern
The “Five Message Givers” are
1. Language: The dynamics of the spoken word
2. Tone: The sound and timber of your voice
3. Visuals: Eyes: the expression in your eyes; and Face: when to smile and when not to
4. Image: Attitude, personality, and likability
5. Ideas: Subject matter
Imported to the U.S. from London, England, where she was born and trained, Stuart enjoys a successful international career as a teacher/ lecturer/ writer/ director and performer.
In her capacity as spokesman for SIDS, she has lectured throughout the United States addressing diverse audiences: professional executives, members of Congress, doctors, and research scientists. She petitioned Washington, with positive results, to change “Death by unknown causes” or “Bronchial pneumonia’’ on a death certificate to, when appropriate, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
Stuart also addressed the House of Representatives on the controversial issue of “partial birth abortion” and was enthusiastically received. She has also appeared on television and radio programs in support of numerous causes.
She has received critical acclaim on the New York stage for her one-woman shows and has developed an extensive following through her teaching.
“I believe that at this time of my career, after decades as a solo performer and a public speaker, I am equipped to pass along this sure fire technique. It will enable anyone making a presentation in public to get the results they want. In making a speech, going on an interview, addressing fellow members of the board, training others or litigating in court, I’ve always achieved success with my technique in the ‘Art of Public Speaking’” says Stuart.
Vicki Stuart holds workshops and coaches privately at Singers Forum. She also takes her technique into corporate locations.
Singers Forum was founded in 1978 by Andy Anselmo and John Albert Harris to be a training center for the vocal arts. Over the years, the Forum has always been located in the historic Flatiron District, and recently moved to 49 West 24th Street in Manhattan.
