Our Jazz Master Class, Sing the Swing, was a great success! Students and auditors alike benefitted from the collective skill and knowledge of three great vocalists (and of course our own Don Rebic at the piano!).  One of the teachers had such a great time, she's chosen to join our regular faculty.  We also have more news about an award-winning teacher, our new foray into the digital world, and Fall's Open House.  Read on!

Laurel Massé Joins SF Regular Faculty

We are very pleased to announce that this Fall, Laurel Massé, Grammy-winning founding member of The Manhattan Transfer, will be joining our faculty as a jazz coach.  Beginning in September, Ms. Massé will be available for private sessions for students who are serious about improving their skills in vocal jazz technique and performance.  Meet her at Open House or call the front desk for more information!

Christopher Temporelli Wins Zeffirelli Scholarship

The Columbus Citizen's Foundation announced four Zeffirelli Scholarship for the Arts awards this spring, and Singers Forum faculty member Christopher Temporelli was one of the recipients.

According to the Foundation's President, Louis Tallarini, "The Zeffirelli Scholarship for the Arts Fund honors the achievements of Mr. Zeffirelli, one of the 20th and 21st centuries' great artists, and expands into the field of the arts the Foundations tradition of providing opportunities to dedicated students."

The other scholarships will go to American pianist Loretta Terrigno, and two yet-to-be-designated Italian students who will come to New York City to participate in an intensive six-month course in visual arts.

Christopher received his Doctor of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance from the University of Michigan in 2005.  His professional appearances include the roles of Master Pausanias in Emmanuel Chabrier's An Incomplete Education with the Bronx Opera and Doctor Grenvil in Giuseppe Verdi's La Traviata with the Fort Worth Opera.  He has also performed extensively in other venues, including the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall.

Christopher is available for private voice technique lessons, and will be teaching a voice technique class in the fall.

Congratulations, Christopher!
