Jazz Workshop with Grammy-Winner!
We have room for just a few more participants in Grammy-winner Laurel Massé's upcoming two-day workshop. Call to secure your spot today! (There are also several spots for auditors, if you don't care to participate. Make sure to sign up in advance for those, as well!) All great songs share a common thread: a strong lyric. Lyrics call us to war or invite us to bed, celebrate love or mourn its loss. The best ones remind the listener of the shared human experience within the personal experience, and it is the singer's job to make the connections palpable. Join Laurel Massé (right), founding member of Manhattan Transfer, in an exploration of this often-neglected aspect of jazz singing, and discover how to improvise within the framework of the song.
Rhythm in My Nursery Rhymes: Jazzing the Lyric with Laurel Massé Two Day Workshop: Friday, October 19 6:30 - 9:30 pm & Saturday, October 20 1:00 - 4:00 pm $150 for the two day workshop/ No single classes sold Auditors encouraged - $10 per class

SF Welcomes New Technique Teacher
Fall is a season of change, and Singers Forum is not immune! Linda Burton, one of our beloved voice technique teachers has chosen not to return to teaching this fall, so she can focus on her own singing career. We wish Linda all the best! We'll really miss her. But, as one door closes, another opens, and a new door has opened in the person of Bradley Dean (left), our new voice technique teacher who started last week. Bradley is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University and has had an active career in the theater, including a role in the recent Tony Award-winning revival of Company. Bradley has appeared on stage in New York, across the country and internationally. Looking to stay in one place for a while, he has joined our faculty to teach private voice technique lessons. If you're interested in studying with Bradley, we suggest you sign up for a consultation or simply leave your name and number at the front desk, and we'll get the ball rolling for you.

With a resume that includes performing at The Oak Room and Feinstein's and writing for PBS and The New York Times, Mary Cleere has a little experience with what to say about, around, and incidental to a song. Session 2 of her Singers Forum class, Patter, Poise, Passion & Panache, starts on 10/30, at only $350 for 7 classes. Call or stop by the front desk to sign up!
