SF Student Tries for Idol Final 12
|
|
Nick Mitchell -- former student of Andy Anselmo, Johnny King and Vicki Stuart -- made it to the Final 36 contestants of American Idol's Season 8, and will be singing live this Wednesday night for America's votes! Two weeks ago, Nick talked to the judges about his fervent desire to entertain. He said his two great loves are singing and making people laugh. He's been doing plenty of both - and doing it well - so far! Tune in to Fox 5 on Wednesday night at 8 pm to see Nick's live performance! Good luck, Nick and we hope you make it to the Final 12!

Wow! Open Mic was packed last month! We're looking forward to another great night of music, so make sure you sign-up early! Dan Furman will be at the keys and John Koprowski is your emcee. Bring sheet music for two songs and get ready for a fun time! Open Mic

Mid-Semester Sample Class Day, March 15

Did you miss Open House in January? Well, now you have a second chance to try out those free sample classes! Singers Forum will host a Mid-Semester Sample Class Day on Sunday, March 15, 2-5 pm. There is no fee and no pre-registration required. A schedule of the day's classes will be available soon. Come on by on March 15 and experience a new class or teacher! As an added bonus, if you sign up for a full session of a group class during the sample class day, you'll get 10% off!

Make Your Own Leadsheets!

Come to Any Open Mic with Confidence! Save money by learning to prepare your own leadsheets... in your own key! You will receive all needed materials, including music manuscript paper and a transposing wheel; just bring pencils, an eraser, a straight edge ruler and pencil sharpener! Don't know your key? We'll find it for you. During class you will actually prepare a leadsheet from music you bring to the workshop, so please make sure the original you bring has chord symbols above the music staff.
