The Arrangement Experience Starts 3/28!
|
|
Following the success of their first workshop (The Motown Experience) at Singers Forum, Lennie Watts and Steven Ray Watkins are presenting The Arrangement Experience: The Music of The Brill Building. Over the eight week session, you and the instructors will collaborate on personalized treatments of these great songs. You will explore the lyrics, and the style of the song, and create a one of a kind arrangement just for you!
Saturdays, 11:00 am - 2:00 pm EIGHT-WEEK WORKSHOP: 3/28 - 5/30/09 (8 classes, no class 4/11, 5/23) $550
Audition Date & Time: By appointment only. Call to make an appointment. Prepare one song that you feel shows you at your best, but bring alternate material and be ready to sing another song, if asked. Please bring appropriate sheet music.

New Monologue Class with Eric Michael Gillett
|

Singers Forum is pleased to present a new class on monologue preparation by faculty member Eric Michael Gillett, DISCOVERING MONOLOGUES: Repertoire, Character & Performance. In this class, Eric Michael teaches the student how to find and hone a monologue both for audition purposes and as a means of uncovering basic acting truths. SF Faculty Win Bistro Awards
|
|
Singers Forum’s Artistic Director, Don Rebic, will be honored with a Back Stage Bistro Award for Outstanding Musical Director on Tuesday, April 28. Our newest faculty member, Lennie Watts will be named Outstanding Director at the event. Guest faculty member Laurel Masse will receive the award for Outstanding Jazz Vocalist, and former student of Andy Anslemo, Liza Minelli, will receive a special award for Enduring Artistry.
Other faculty members who have won a Bistro award include Barbara Fasano, Eric Comstock, David Shenton, Steven Ray Watkins and Eric Michael Gillett.
The 24th Annual Backstage Bistro Awards will take place at Gotham Comedy Club, 208 W. 23rd St. The winners are chosen by the Bistro Award Committee.
